Recreation

Off-road riding, side-by-sides, horseback riding, cycling, mountain biking or just hiking – we have a trail for you and whatever you like to do. There are also plenty of small lakes – including mine pit lakes – to explore, and we’re just an hour or so away from destination fishing lakes like Vermilion, the Boundary Waters, and more.

This region is home to two world-class mountain bike trail systems, the largest off-highway vehicle recreation area in the state, miles of cross country trails, world class golf and alpine skiing at Giants Ridge, and the Mesabi Trail, a 130-mile paved trail. In fact, there are so many ways to interact with the outdoors here, you may have trouble choosing what to do first. From golf to skiing, curling to karate, there’s a seasonal activity with a club or team that would love to have you join. If you like to be active, or want to be, the Iron Range is the place for you.

Can I bring my deep sea diving equipment?
